This recent job perfectly captured the essence of commercial modelling, and we were delighted to contact Nalini to say she had been chosen by ECL Care to be the star of the shoot.
We’re strong supporters of the company, as we’ve worked with them before, providing them the best models for their campaigns.
This one took place in Hertfordshire, in between Cambridge, Luton and Chelmsford. Nalini was selected from a range of more mature models to help ECL Care (Essex Cares Limited) with their marketing ion their website, printed brochures, press releases and on social media. They used high quality images in jpeg formats, both in portrait and landscape for social media use, and smaller high-resolution photos for their printed media.
Nalini was delighted to be chosen, and she was understandably excited to experience the highs of being on set of a professional commercial modelling assignment.
However, as can happen, her travel plans were scuppered by a traffic incident on the M25 – one of the busiest roads in the world. Not the best start, but all was not lost, thanks to effective communication.
Nalini revealed, “From the time I joined Models Direct I felt supported and informed as my application progressed. Today I had my first experience of a photoshoot. It didn’t start well as there was a major incident on M25 and I was delayed. Both Charlie from Model Direct and the staff from ECL photoshoot were very supportive and assured me not to worry.”
There’s nothing that can’t be fixed if both our clients and our team are aware of any issues. So, Nalini did the right thing and, from there, she was soon taken care of when she reached her destination.
Her modelling brief was extremely detailed. ECL supports older people and those living with disabilities, their help coming from rehabilitation and reablement care in nursing homes.
Nalini’s photoshoot was primarily to capture images for their Reablement Service – providing care in people’s homes after a stay in hospital, to enable those individuals to feel confident and healthy and regain full independence.
The nature of the job demanded certain protocols, which Nalini knew from her modelling brief. She was asked to act naturally as though she wasn’t on camera, in genuine situations as though she was receiving care from ECL’s staff. They didn’t want to see fake laughter or Nalini in awkward positions, nor her looking directly at the camera.
She was also asked to wear her own comfortable neutral-coloured clothing, with photos sent in advance for approval. It was an extremely important role for Nalini, and one which she revelled in.
She said, “It was a wonderful day. On arrival I was welcomed warmly and throughout the job I felt special and accommodated. There was no rush, though I was late. My role was needing assistance in my home towards independent living, and I was receiving guidance, encouragement and support by Care Supporting Staff – for example, showing me how to cut vegetables and make a sandwich.
“The venue was just breathtaking, and the aura was very calming. This experience was very different from being an extra on film sets. Everyone was so friendly.”
It was a superb assignment perfect for Nalini, and we hope to offer her more work.
