How to hire models – a step-by-step guide for new clients

Published: 9th Jul 2024

With a history reaching back over more than 30 years, Models Direct has partnered clients of all sizes and from a wide variety of industries over the decades.

We have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world – from the likes of Amazon, McDonald’s and Getty Images to Ford, BMW and Coca Cola Enterprises.

We team up with broadcasters, such as the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky and we work with some of the biggest retail chains in the UK, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

But we also work with much smaller local and regional organisations; we team up with charities, local authorities and educational establishments.

And we support start-ups and boutique businesses that are just getting off the ground.

Some of our clients come to us directly while others approach us via media agencies, production teams or marketing companies.

We have strong relationships with our existing clients and they know which of our team members to go to directly when they need models for their assignments.

But where do new clients start? How do they hire models through Models Direct?

1 We always suggest new clients browse our blog pages, read reviews from other clients and also look at the feedback models who have worked with us have provided. That way, they can gain a clear idea of the level of our experience and how we work.

2 Then fill in our form. Tell us about your business and provide us with the details of your assignment and its location. Give us all your contact details too and we will be in touch.

3 One of our professional team members will call you and you can tell us more about the booking. Is it a photo or film shoot? How long will our models be required for? Who will be managing the assignment? And how many models will you require?

4 We will establish whether you are the kind of business or organisation we are happy to work with and then ask you for precise details of the kinds of model (or models) you are looking for – this will include age and physical description, as well as whether you require people with any particular skills: sports, acting or singing, for example.

5 We will discuss and agree fees with you at this point too and we will also establish whether there will be any other expenses, for example for travel.

6 If both sides are happy to go ahead we will then search through our extensive database of models to find a selection of models to meet your requirements.

7 We will then send this shortlist over to you so you make the final choice as to who you would like.

8 It is then up to us to inform the chosen model (models) and ensure they are kept up to date from this point onwards. If any details of the assignment change, then we ask you to give us as much notice as possible out of fairness to our models.

9 We ask all our clients for prompt payment as we always ensure our models are paid very quickly after the successful completion of an assignment.

10 Once you have worked with us we will ask you for your feedback. We are always keen to hear what our clients and models think about our service as we strive constantly to ensure our operation is smooth and works well for anyone.

New and existing clients can always contact us by telephone as well.
