Usually we invite readers to view a link mid-blog, but in this case you just have to see the link first. But before you take a peek, Models Direct recommends only persons of 18 years or older may view the trailer. Sorry, young ‘uns!
We pride ourselves on being a top agency with a diverse range of clients, but this takes some beating. Video game giant Deep Silver launched their Metro Redux video game on Nintendo Switch, so who better to approach than Models Direct to gain the services of seven commercial models to star in their trailer? The unique acting assignment was orchestrated by ICHI – a creative agency with strong links to some of the world’s biggest entertainment brands. This emphasises our comprehensive client list, which continues to grow. Talk about opportunities for both aspiring and established models!
This super cool trailer was filmed on the tube in London, creating an eerie mood to reflect the nature of the video game. The video game is based on Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novel Metro 2033, which is set on the Moscow Metro. We couldn’t send our group of intrepid models to the Russian capital, although London’s underground tunnels provided a superb alternative!
Being a one-person shooter game set in apocalyptic times, the game appeals to thousands of science fiction and horror fans. In the book, Moscow is hit by atomic bombs, causing severe radiation throughout the city. This forces Moscow’s population to seek shelter in the underground stations. The ultimate goal, of course, is survival.
Make no mistake – this was no ordinary modelling assignment. Our seven talented extras were booked as actors, with the thrilling prospect of promoting a video game released on Nintendo Switch. It’s another excellent example of what models can achieve when they’re put with the right people. For us and our booking team, it’s all part of our job description, and it’s something we excel in – we don’t mind telling people that, because we believe in what we are doing! Sure, models can “go it alone”, but one of the advantages of joining a reputable agency is the list of contacts gained by an agency over years of dedication. Working on behalf of Nintendo – now that’s something an individual model wouldn’t be able to achieve without an agency’s services!
One of our models, Marco, commended our bookings team, and can’t wait to appear in more Models Direct assignments. He said, “It was a very cool set for a video game trailer in London. It was my second time working with the client, who were just as great this time around! Everyone was super-friendly and very professional, and I met some great people. It was a great opportunity and I look forward to more in the future. Thanks to Molly and the rest of the Models Direct team – much appreciated!”
Well, please allow us to blow our own trumpet! We love receiving feedback and general evaluations from our models, and Marco’s praise was a definite plus point.
Debut model Adam valued the welcome he was given, as well as meeting all the other models. “I had such a warm welcome from all the team,” he said, “including the other artists and Model Direct’s talents such as Anamaria, Marco and Hope. We connected with each other and I hope to meet them all again in future jobs with Models Direct. Thank you very much to Molly, who was very helpful and accommodating.”
Again, this is a fine example that demonstrates modelling is fun and sociable. Who knows – maybe Adam met friends for life in London’s underground?
We don’t just specialise in stills or photo shoots. We value actors, and we can’t wait to place more models in this kind of exciting work.
