Lights, camera, action! Our female model was in sharp focus at a Welsh photography show…

Published: 28th Mar 2025

Stepping out under lights and in front of a camera is nothing new for our lovely models – but Gemma’s experience was slightly different to the norm.

Yes, here at Models Direct we are, of course, old hands at sending our male and female models off to take part on film and photo shoots for all sorts of clients.

In fact, it is something we do almost every day of the year!

This time, however, we were approached by renowned camera supplier Transcontinenta for a promotional model to help them out at a live event – the Wales and West Photography Show.

Now, promotional modelling is also an area we are highly experienced in and we often send our models along to support clients at major trade shows and other events.

The job of the promotional model is to help the client attract visitors to their stand, demonstrate products or assist in other ways to make the most of the occasion.

Gemma’s role, however, was to pose for the cameras and under the lights while representatives of Transcontinenta demonstrated their various products and ran workshops.

Gemma was essentially live modelling as if within a genuine photo shoot for the whole three days of the event in Newport, Wales.

So how did she find the experience of helping our client in this way?

Well, this is the feedback she gave us afterwards:

“I had a great first experience with Models Direct.

“The event itself was well organised and the agent from Models Direct was always checking in with me.

“The photographer was also great and the organisers on the day were so nice.

“Models Direct has a good clientele and I hope to work with them again soon.”

And it wasn’t just Gemma who was thrilled with just how smoothly the assignment went.

Our client also reported back afterwards. They said:

“We just wanted to drop you a message to say thank you for your help and assistance in scouring a model for our lighting project at the Wales and West Photography Show last week.

Model Gemma was a great asset and brought a lot of added value to our stand and allowed us to run a series of workshops around different types and styles of lighting and photography.

We will be sure to use you for any other events or activities we have planned in the future.”

Could you imagine yourself earning money for live modelling work like this?

If so, contact us and we will call you back to explain more.
