Boy George is no longer a boy, although we were asked to supply a younger model to help achieve the pop star’s look when he first came into the public eye.
Step up Andrew, who was invited to Soho, London, for a photo shoot complete with funky wigs and outfits. Boy George is well-known for his eccentrically daring wardrobe, so replicating his style was something few of us will ever get to achieve. Mind you, it takes a certain type of person to look good in one of the singer’s trademark kooky hats.
Andrew was the centre of attention as he posed for full-length shots and close-ups. The stylist working with Andrew had previously worked with Boy George, so there was no better person to re-create the look.
What was the reason for Andrew’s glamorous makeover? Well, Boy George wrote the Broadway musical Taboo in 2004, naming it after a nightclub that opened in London in 1985. Taboo nightclub was a favourite of Boy George’s, and the re-make of the musical will once again roll into town this spring in Manchester. Thus, the promotional team needed an enthusiastic model to impersonate Boy George as the man himself was apparently unavailable. Celebs, eh?
With the clothes sorted and the make-up freely available, Andrew took to the role like a chocoholic at Willy Wonka’s factory. With the addition to the singer’s famous braids, Andrew really was the spitting image of the young Boy George.
This one-in-a-lifetime shoot was organised by top marketing company Make A Noise. They specialise in the arts and music sectors, so it was a perfect combination working with professional stylists and a model put forward by the UK’s most prominent commercial modelling agency.
Andrew’s schedule for the day was to arrive fifteen minutes before the stylist and photographer. His hair, make-up and costume transformation began shortly after, lasting about an hour. After speaking with the graphic designer, the photo shoot commenced in the afternoon, lasting about two hours, with the assignment signing off at 5pm. During Andrew’s job, the director was interviewed for social media promotions.
We don’t know how long it took for Andrew to remove his make-up, unless he took a shine to it and kept it on until he returned home.
So, another glitzy modelling assignment was completed on behalf of a high profile client. We’ll add this to the array of previous successes, and we’ll look forward to placing more talented models of all ages with esteemed clients.
If you haven’t already joined us, read a little about us before making a commitment. We’ll have a look to see what you can offer our clients. That’s exactly what young Andrew did, and we bet he didn’t dream he’d be starring in a country-wide photo shoot impersonating one of the most famous singers of the past 35 years.
