We’ve been putting the fizz into modelling jobs since 1990, so we knew that our latest assignment for Morrisons would go with a bang – well, more a champagne cork pop.
Angela was the model chosen by the retail giant to advertise their magnum bottles of bubbly for less than a tenner – an absolute bargain, we’re sure you’ll agree. It was part of a Black Friday deal last year, with the supermarket tempting customers with Coppiere Prosecco. Party-lovers or wine fans will know that a magnum is twice the size of a standard wine bottle, which equates to 1.5 litres – enough to toast the pre-festive season and get ready to celebrate like it’s 2023. And judging by the final photos, Angela looked like she’d be celebrating after the shoot with the Italian fizz.
This was a quintessential Models Direct booking: the client is a famous brand loved by millions of customers; Angela was a debut model who’d put her faith in our booking systems; and the human touch of posing as a commercial model proved as effective as any fancy gimmick seen on social media or TV. In all, it was an outstanding success that left Angela wanting more of the modelling limelight.
After the photoshoot she was thrilled to give us her feedback, just as hundreds of models have done.
“Today I had my first assignment with Models Direct. I had a great time at the shoot, which was for Morrisons. The photographer and the photoshoot organiser were super-friendly and very professional. We worked really well as a team, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Models Direct were very professional, too, and I look forward to the next opportunity.”
Angela was asked to be the essence of a commercial model. They are mainly used by our clients to portray people that are recognised by the general population, be it shop workers, government officials, emergency services staff or customers themselves. Invariably the aim is to appeal to everyday people by promoting products or services in a fashion that is realistic and unpretentious.
Supermarkets are obvious examples, so Angela wasn’t surprised to be asked to pose as a customer assistant – complete with her own name badge, although she was posing as” Charlotte”. To get the perfect set of photos, she was asked to display the Magnum bottles of Prosecco in aisles, wearing a Morrison’s staff uniform and a Santa’s hat to complete the pre-Christmas look – as well as tempting customers to start their festive shopping early.
Black Friday is traditionally observed in the US, although it hasn’t escaped the millions of frantic shoppers in Europe in recent times. Brands must compete to stand out and survive in less-than-ideal economic times, and we’re pleased to report that Angela’s image was shown in media throughout the UK. This proves once again that our clients rely on Models Direct to help them get their special offers and products seen by the nation. And that’s really what commercial models can do for a brand.
Well done, Angela!
