For our model Neil it was a case of “hoe, hoe, hoe” as he dived headfirst into a modelling campaign for one of the biggest names around.
During the run-up to Christmas, Sumec approached us to put forward a male model for an outdoor gardening photo shoot. Luckily the weather was spot-on, as Neil was promoting Sumec’s latest range of garden tools in situ. Donning a chequered shirt, sturdy gardening gloves and mandatory safety glasses, Neil looked every bit the professional green-fingered horticulturist.
We’ve worked with Sumec previously, so they were as confident as all our other clients that we’d rise to the occasion and provide the best model. It wasn’t Neil’s first modelling gig, so he knew what would be asked of him. That’s not to say any commercial model needs to have had experience to be recommended to our clients. Quite the opposite, in fact, as the link below testifies:

What better for a commercial model than appearing in a national photo shoot for an industry-leader? And the good news is that you can do it as well! No experience necessary – just an application and the desire to do your best!
Neil’s shoot for Sumec was promoted by Yardforce®, and took place in York – the location of the company’s HQ. They specialise in tools that we love to use to maintain our precious gardens and keep them looking immaculate throughout the year: cordless mowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and lightweight but powerful chainsaws. For a model like Neil with a penchant for alfresco activity, he couldn’t be happier as he got to grips with Sumec’s range of power tools. Not so much work as pleasure, right, Neil?
It wasn’t surprising that our man delivered his positive feedback, saying, “It was an enjoyable day in York. It was similar to my previous assignment: clear help before the job, and always professionally handled.” A bit like his power tool handling!
We’re always looking for fresh modelling talent to put forward to our clients. Sometimes, the range of opportunities is dependent on the time of the year. While we have modelling vacancies available pretty much 365 days of the year, some of our clients choose our models to promote products in the build-up to a busy retail time. For Sumec, they know that “formative pruning” (the act of shaping a tree or hedge when it’s young) is most effective in the winter, after which it can be “topped-up” with less vigorous trimming in the spring and summer. So what better time to give us a call and ask for the best models to promote their trimmers? Market research (or just a little expert knowledge) certainly pays dividends for a worthwhile promotion, and it’s a rule that we’ve adopted for a long time.
Commercial models just like Neil have always fared well in our industry, but we’re eager to recommend every conceivable type of model to any of our clients. Below are all the kinds of models we’re looking to push in a bid to help our clients.
