The Academy

Published: 31st May 2023

We love PR agencies. Models Direct have collaborated with many agencies over the past thirty years and one which we wanted to celebrate in today’s blog (as the title suggests) is The Academy.

The award-winning agency, The Academy, has booked many models with Models Direct for their clients so we’ve had the gift to bond with this hero agency and learn about what makes them tick and how they like to get stuff done. No fluff, no gimmicks, just straight-up hard work and amazing results.

The Academy has famous faces and clients bursting on their socials – it’s so impressive. From photoshoots captured on a special screening night in London’s Leicester Square for Prime’s The Peripheral to Arsenals World Global Premiere, you bet this expert team are hands on deck and ready for positive action. They’ve joined forces with many big brands including Morrisons, Marie Curie, Amazon and Zurich.

When it comes to joining forces with our talent and modelling agency, The Academy has worked on Halloween to Easter supermarket promotions where we’ve supplied male, female and child models for photographic work. Models Direct have had the pleasure of leveraging their clients’ projects into winning campaigns during our collaboration. With this delightful PR agency, we are aiming high this 2023 to ensure we both have another running year of goals and achievements together. Let’s dig into what a PR agency is and why big brands use them.

What is a PR agency?

First up, a PR (public relations) agency’s job is to help a brand or company manage and up level its reputation and relationships with the public, just like how The Academy does. Their aim is to target an audience most suited for the brand or company’s products or services that will get them seen and noticed.

To do this, PR agencies generate and share information about the brand on their behalf whether it’s about their latest product or service, or something innovative in the pipeline. They also work to build strong relationships with media outlets and influencers to expand exposure and coverage for their clients. Ultimately, brands want heads turning and to help them do that is what PR agencies are there for.

Why would big brands use a PR agency?

Easy! Big brands are important. They play a crucial role in boosting a company’s identity making them a strong contender for consumer association with the help of witty marketing for potential sales. When I think of witty marketing I think of that famous Cadbury’s gorilla ad – absolutely mesmerising, memorable and loads of fun, even after all these years (15 years this year!)

So, it’s natural that big brands and giant names would have a PR agency on board to help them generate recognition and profit. They’ll help share that vital information the brand wants to tell the world and forge those super tight relationships with the media and across social media platforms. There’s a lot they do and when they put their heart and soul into it, it really does show.

It’s been our absolute pleasure bringing this blog to you about The Academy. If you want to check out their socials head on over to their Instagram, Facebook and Twitter page to find out more. You’ll even catch some stills of work you may recognise (Check out Morrison’s posts). Enjoy!
