Our young male models Alexander and John recently became honorary members of the Tartan Army when they were asked by The Scotland Kilt Company to promote their range of traditional Scottish fashion.
The family-run business, based in Bonnington in north Edinburgh, has a formidable reputation for bespoke suits, classical sporrans, sturdy belts, shawls, waistcoats, and, naturally, the finest hand-stitched kilts.
The company was founded in 2005 and launched their first online store the year after. Demand has since skyrocketed, and in keeping with the number of customers requiring their clothing, they reached out to us as the go-to destination for the best commercial models in the UK.
They needed two camera-friendly models to help them showcase the best of their clothing ranges. Their first port of call? The UK’s no.1 commercial modelling agency, of course. Alexander and John were picked from several suitable models, and before they knew it, they were making arrangements to travel to the Scottish capital for a superb modelling session.
Models must relish every job they receive from us, and to maximise their chances of other jobs by making a good first impression on everyone involved, from the first point of contact to the photographers, filmmakers and makeup artists. Modelling shoots have several components, so they all need to come together to make the day a success. It’s a three-way process – our clients come to us with a brief, we put forward the models for them to choose from, and then the selected model decides to accept the job. After that, we’re always available for models to contact should they have any questions. We know that some assignments can seem daunting to models – especially if it’s their first job – so encouragement and support plays a huge part in a successful shoot.
Alexander was over the moon to be involved in his shoot. After working with The Scotland Kilt Company he was quick to share his experience.
“I had a fantastic time on shoot for The Scottish Kilt Company in Edinburgh. The team was great, everyone pitched in and did their bit. It was my first shoot with Models Direct after signing with them, so I was glad to get some local work. I’m looking forward to the next one!”
Alexander is based not far from Edinburgh, and whilst a modelling gig close to home is more convenient for lots of our models, it doesn’t mean that we only offer jobs for models within a certain distance from the assignment. We’re a multi-national agency, offering hundreds of opportunities across the UK and farther afield, including Europe.
Check out some more information about modelling with us in Scotland. If you’re based anywhere north of the border, please register with us and we’ll see what you have to offer. If you’re a Scottish model with ambition, there’s no reason why you couldn’t star in any of our fantastic assignments in England. Modelling is competitive, but it’s also packed with opportunities for the right models.
John was quick to praise his job as well. He beamed, “I had a great time modelling with the Scotland Kilt Company – thanks to Models Direct for setting me up. It was a fun environment to work in and Gemma (the talent agent) made the whole process very easy and relaxing for me despite having worries.”
Our team are here to make sure the booking process is as painless as possible – from start to finish. It was another job well done by everyone.
